Even More Unsung Heroes
The International Live Music Conference has added a new category called “The Unsung Hero” to its annual Arthur Awards. This may create some confusion, however, as it’s the same title as one of the new Live Music Business Awards presented at the Live UK Summit.
The new Arthur, which is presumably also open to unsung heroines, will highlight different, otherwise unrecognised sectors each year. This year, the award will focus on the industry’s personal assistants.
An anonymous jury of some 30 people from different sectors and countries has already been asked to put forward the names of individuals worthy of being shortlisted for the Arthurs.
ILMC members will then vote for candidates on the list and the winners will be announced at the conference’s annual gala dinner in March.
The holder of the original “Unsung Hero” award, which was presented at Live UK magazine’s inaugural prize-giving at London’s Radisson Blu Hotel Oct. 7, is T&S Immigration.
Tina and Steve Richard’s Scottish-based company has apparently performed unsung heroics in helping artists with visa and work permit applications.
