Three For The Price Of One: Gene Simmons, Coldplay, Jewel

Gene Simmons is hospitalized for dehydration, Coldplay is named number one snooze-worthy band and Jewel is hosting a new singer-songwriter reality show.

Gene Simmons spent the night in the hospital over the weekend after fainting at Los Angeles International Airport.

On Sunday the KISS bassist fell and hit his head at LAX, cutting himself on his forehead, according to TMZ.com. He was rushed to Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, Calif.

The doctors ran a few tests and concluded Simmons was dehydrated.

The gossip site posted a picture of Simmons leaving the hospital in a wheelchair. He was released Monday.

A Rush Of Sleep To The Head

In 2008 Coldplay topped a Travelodge poll asking participants to name the artists they listen to at bedtime to help them drift off to dreamland. Two years later, the British band is still putting people to sleep.

Chris Martin and the gang came in first followed by Michael Buble, Snow Patrol, Alicia Keys and Jack Johnson. Taylor Swift, Mozart, Barry White, Leona Lewis and Radiohead also made the top ten.

The hotel chain surveyed 6,000 British adults for the poll. According to the survey, 25 percent of participants said they fall asleep listening to their iPod, with 13 percent reporting that falling asleep to music ensures nice dreams.

Jewel & Kara DioGuardi Going Platinum

After previously hosting “Nashville Star” back in 2007, Jewel will have the chance to put her TV hosting skills to the test again with the premier of “Going Platinum.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, she will also provide feedback to contestants.

Chicago Country Music Festival, Pritzker Pavilion, Millennium Park, Chicago, Ill.

The 10-episode reality competition will feature aspiring singer-songwriters living together and competing in songwriting challenges for a $100,000 cash prize, a publishing deal with Sony, and a recording deal with RCA/Jive.

Former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi, who has written songs for Carrie Underwood and Pink, will serve as head judge.

The judges will determine the winner rather than the viewers.

“Going Platinum” is set to premier on Bravo next year.
