Oregon Fair Manager Resigns

The manager of the Oregon State Fair has announced her resignation, saying she didn’t get enough support and struggled with state agency bureaucracy.

Connie Bradley posted a lengthy resignation on Facebook Oct. 25 but quickly retracted it.

“Due to events over the last two years, it is obvious that I lack the internal support from the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department Administrative team to be able to continue to perform my duties with the same level of passion, energy and effort that I have for the last five years,” she wrote. “Because of this obvious lack of support and all of the unproductive internal conflict, I am resigning my position as the Oregon State Fair Manager.”

The resignation takes effect Nov. 25. Bradley told the Statesman Journal she was not trying to put the parks department or the fair in a bad light. But she said the fair can’t operate like a park and must be treated separately.
