Heart ‘Comes Home’ To Canada

But Ann and Nancy Wilson are from Seattle, so what’s up with the “Heart Comes Home” labeling? Simple. The band recorded Dreamboat Annie in Vancouver, British Columbia, where the ladies and their bandmates were living at the time. Now the Wilsons are bringing it all back “home” for the album’s birthday with a gameplan calling for them to play every region in the country.

“Heart had its musical genesis in Vancouver and as artists Canada has always been our spiritual home,” the sisters said in a statement. “Canadians love to rock and we are happy to be bringing Heart as it is now back to Canada. It’s like Heart is coming home.”

But the run through Canada commemorating Heart’s first album won’t be all nostalgia. The band released its first studio album in six years – Red Velvet Car – on Eagle Rock Records in August. Produced by Ben Mink, Red Velvet Car quickly became the seventh top 10 album in the band’s history and reached No. 1 in sales on Amazon during the first week of September.

The “Heart Comes Home” tour begins in St. Johns, NL, at the Mile One Centre Jan. 28, plays Corner Brook, NL, at the Pepsi Centre Jan. 29 and hits the Charlottetown Civic Centre Feb. 1. Other stops include Moncton (Feb. 1), Halifax (Feb. 3), Montreal (Feb. 5), Ottawa (Feb. 7), Toronto (Feb. 11), Winnipeg (Feb. 17), Saskatoon (Feb. 18), Calgary (Feb. 22) and Prince George (Feb. 24) before wrapping in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Centre Feb. 26.
