MJ & Cirque du Soleil – What A Thrill!

Although Michael Jackson never got a chance to perform his “This Is It” residency in London, the King of Pop’s touring legacy will live on with the premier of Cirque du Soleil – “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour.”

The show will feature MJ’s music and choreography along with the creativity fans have come to expect from Cirque du Soleil.

Fans will enjoy “a unique view into the spirit, passion and heart of the artistic genius who forever transformed global pop culture” through a tour that celebrates Jackson’s “global messages of love, peace and unity.”

In the show performers and viewers will discover the “wellspring of Jackson’s creativity” – his inspirational Giving Tree. In the “Living with Michael Jackson” 2003 Granada Television documentary Jackson showed off the Neverland Ranch’s “Giving Tree,” which he would climb to get inspiration to write his music.

The tour features 60 international performers and is being written and directed by Jamie King. For the past 12 years the Emmy Award and MTV Video Music Award nominee served as Madonna’s creative director. He’s also directed world tours for Rihanna, Celine Dion, Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Rain, Ricky Martin, Pink and Christina Aguilera.

The dates for Cirque Du Soleil – “Michael Jackson: The Immortal” are set for fall 2011 through spring 2012.
