On Oct. 7 The Sword announced its European trek was being postponed until a later date, citing “circumstances beyond our control.”  Four days later the Austin, Texas-based band explained the “circumstances” in question with the news that drummer Trivett Wingo was no longer with the group. At this point the band also canceled the remainder of the scheduled U.S. tour, which had begun Oct. 1.

In a statement Wingo told fans, “After nearly seven years and some of the most amazing adventures of a lifetime … I am physically and emotionally unable to continue on as part of The Sword.” The band issued a statement of its own, wishing Wingo “nothing but the best.”

The fall tour will now resume Nov. 27 at Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge, La., with U.S. dates on the books through a Dec. 16 gig at Juanita’s Cantina Ballroom in Little Rock, Ark.

Additional shows include Theatre Of The Living Arts in Philadelphia (Dec. 3), Webster Hall in New York (Dec. 4), 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (Dec. 6), Metro/Smart Bar in Chicago (Dec. 12) and Firebird in St. Louis (Dec. 13).

Kevin Fender – former drummer for Texas hardcore band Employer, Employee – will be taking over the drum kit on tour.

Tickets are on sale now. All tickets from previously postponed shows will be honored at the door.

The Sword is touring in support of its third studio album, Warp Riders.
