Taaffe Joins The Agency Group

Tom Taaffe has left International Talent Booking and joined The Agency Group.

It’s a move that appears to have been on the agenda of Agency Group director Geoff Meall for some time.

“I’m delighted that Tom has joined us here in the U.K. office,” Meall said in a statement announcing Taaffe’s switch. “Having known him since his days promoting in Australia, we were keen to bring him here when he decided to relocate to the U.K. As soon as we found out he was free again, we jumped at the chance.”

Taaffe is short-listed for ILMC’s Tomorrow’s New Boss Award. Last year Baddies, an act he booked on to the European Talent Exchange Programme in The Netherlands, challenged White Lies for the honour of earning most festival appearances from the scheme.

He began his music industry career as an agent with Trading Post Agency in Australia, where he represented acts including Frenzal Rhomb, The Butterfly Effect, Karnivool and Gyroscope.

In 2004, he started his own touring company in Australia, Hill 16 Entertainment, touring U.S. acts including From Autumn To Ashes and Eighteen Visions & Rufio.

Many of the acts he’ll be working on have moved with him from ITB. They include A Skylit Drive, An Horse, Asking Alexandria, August Burns Red, Between The Buried And Me, Bless The Fall, Chiodos, MyChildren MyBride, Of Mice & Men, Revoker, and The Acacia Strain.
