JellyBean Sued

Spirit Music Group has filed a lawsuit against producer JellyBean Benitez and his House of Fun Music alleging breach of contract regarding the jointly owned song “Holiday” made famous by Madonna.

The lawsuit, filed Dec. 7 in New York State Supreme Court, seeks $10 million in damages, breach of contract and unpaid royalties, according to a statement from plaintiff lawyer Wallace Collins.

Spirit Music reps also seek return of the company’s 50 percent share of the song copyright, the statement said.
