Iron & Wine Announces ‘Surprise’ Concert, Webcast

You can get a taste of the new Iron & Wine album tonight during a surprise concert and webcast beaming out of New York City.

Sam Beam, aka Iron & Wine, announced the gig during an interview on National Public Radio affiliate WNYC while appearing on the station’s “Soundcheck” program. The concert,presented by NPR Music, takes place tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern Time in the station’s street-level broadcast and performance venue, The Greene Space. The show will feature the first performance of Iron & Wine’s upcoming album, Kiss Each Other Clean, scheduled to drop Jan. 25.

But you don’t have to be in the Big Apple to enjoy the show. Following the performance the show will be archived at www,npr.org/music and wnyc.org/thegreenespace.
