Filesharers Not Scared By Three Strikes
Those in the music industry who thought the “three strikes” law would deter people from illegally downloading music may need to get back to the drawing board.
A new French survey suggests that only 4 percent of people have decided not to share files since the new rules were put into effect.
A much larger percentage said they’d continue their illegal downloading, although many said they now take more precautions.
About 75 percent said they didn’t download at all, and many aren’t pleased about having to pay higher ISP fees to cover the costs of Hadopi, the French law introduced to encourage compliance with copyright laws.
