Dedicated to “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Rock,” the nation’s largest Memorial Day Weekend party is set for May 27-29 in Pryor, Okla., at the “Catch The Fever” Festival Grounds.

Although daily band schedules are still getting hashed out, the total list of bands and artists seems almost endless and includes Papa Roach, Saving Abel, Skillet, Sick Puppies, Sebastian Bach, Black Label Society, Drowning Pool, My Darkest Days, Rev. Theory, All That Remains, Escape The Fate, Cavo and The Gracious Few featuring members of Live and Candlebox.

But wait, there’s more, including Hail The Villain, Pop Evil, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Taddy Porter, Pop Evil, Crooked X and Texas Hippie Coalition, to drop a few names. Heck, if we listed every single Rocklahoma band and artist in this space, we’d blow our entire pixel allotment for the month.

Instead, we’ll just drop in a quote from Rocklahoma co-executive producer, AEG Live senior VP Joe Litvag and his almost bottomless bag of exclamation points:

“2011 promises to deliver the biggest Rocklahoma punch to date,” said Litvag. “Not only have we stepped up our game with the top active rock artists on the charts this year like Seether, Papa Roach and Sick Puppies, but we’ve also taken the classic artists to a new level of insanity with the likes of Mötley Crüe, Whitesnake and a few surprises yet to come! The Rocklahoma loyalists asked for it, and we heard them loud and clear. This is the perfect balance of talent that will give something to every rock fan in the region!”

Meanwhile, “Catch The Fever” Festival Grounds president and Rocklahoma co-executive producer Mark Nuessle, who’s also pretty generous with exclamation points, talked about VIP offerings.

“We’ve always tried to offer the greatest experience to our Rocklahoma VIPs,” Nuessle said. “This year we’ve brought back the air-conditioning to our VIP catering tent and backstage lounge, by popular demand, and we’ve expanded our packages to include Pit access, best seats in the house and even accommodations and transportation this year! For those who want to be pampered, Rocklahoma will take good care of you!”

Tickets, including general admission and VIP packages go on sale Friday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. CST. While three-day general admission tickets start as low as $99.50, you better move fast because prices will eventually increase. For more information, visit the Rocklahoma website.
