So far, Shatner is booked for the State Theatre in Sydney April 5, the Civic Theatre in Auckland, New Zealand, April 8 and the Melbourne Exhibition Centre April 10. According to the description on Ticketmaster Australia, each show will be a “mad, glorious evening, packed with anecdotes, lessons learned and pearls of wisdom.”

Of course, the big question circulating among the Shatner faithful is whether the famed master thespian will favor his audiences with a song or two. After all, who hasn’t been touched by his 1968 album, The Transformed Man, and its incredibly poignant renditions of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” “Mr. Tamborine Man” and “It Was A Very Good Year”?

Plus, Shatner has a new album coming out – Seeking Major Tom – which is reported to include appearances by Zakk Wylde, Peter Frampton and Brian May, making us suspect that a sample of Shat’s famed vocal warblings may be in store for audiences Downunder.

Shatner also appeared on “Conan” last night where he treated the winners of the show’s Valentine’s Day contest to a dramatic reading of Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” further exemplifying why he needs to tour, and why audiences need to see him.

(Shatner appears at approximately 4:20.)

But right now there are only three dates, all south of the equator. Some countries have all the luck.
