Third Man Records Rolling Your Way
The announcement about the store-on-wheels coincides with the two-year anniversary of the Third Man Records’ first physical location in Nashville.
A video about the label’s latest venture notes that according to a recent study, 97 percent of high school aged kids have never been to a stand along record store.
To change this sad statistic, the Rolling Record Store will be hitting the road, making stops at “shows and festivals and any other strange location in this great nation we can think of.”
White teamed up with an auto custom shop to design the truck’s styling to reflect the look and feel of the label’s Nashville location and pop up stores. Onboard fans will find Third Man merchandise including 45s and LPs, in addition to collectibles and souvenirs exclusive to the truck such as T-shirts, tote bags and drinking accessories.
Thanks to two turntables, a microphone, a high quality PA and amplification system and electric outlets, the truck will be able to host guest D.J.s and performances from singers and bands.
The truck will make its debut at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, March 16-20.
