Former Social D Drummer Arrested

Casey Royer, former drummer for Social Distortion, was reportedly arrested in California’s Orange County recently for allegedly overdosing on heroin in front of his 12-year-old son.

Royer, 52, was watching television with his son when he experienced the overdose, police enforcement sources told TMZ, and his son ran next door to seek help.

When police arrived, they reportedly found the house littered with garbage and drug paraphernalia including needles.

Royer was charged March 14 with one count of child endangerment and one count of being under the influence of heroin and was held on $120,000 bail, according to TMZ.

The drummer played for Social Distortion in 1979 then with The Adolescents 1981-86 and 2001-02 and formed the punk band D.I. in 1981, which was still active at the time of his arrest.
