Beware Bogus Bookers

At least three Pollstar subscribers have been solicited by what appears to be a bogus agency claiming to offer appearances by Paris Hilton and Dennis Rodman at rock-bottom prices.

Charlie Jaquet, owner of Floyd’s Music Store in Tallahassee, Fla., a concert promoter and longtime Pollstar subscriber, said he recently started to do business with someone who identified himself as Detron Bendross of Fish N Grits Entertainment who was offering a good deal for one night with Paris.

Jaquet provided a $3,000 check guarantee; that was the last time he heard from “Bendross,” Jaquet told Pollstar. He contacted Paris’ publicist who apparently told him he was not the only promoter in this situation.
