Dropkick Murphys’ Summer Tour
Yes, the band’s dance card was pretty full during the week of St. Paddy’s Day as the boys did an interview and performance on NPR’s “On Point With Tom Ashbrook” March 17, were joined by Bruce Springsteen during their March 18 performance at Boston’s House Of Blues and played Beantown’s Paradise Club March 20 to benefit the Claddagh Fund, the charity founded by Dropkick Murphys founder Ken Casey that benefits children, veterans and folks suffering from alcohol and drug addiction.
Touring in support of their latest album, Going Out Of Style, the band plays several shows in Europe during April before returning for a U.S./Canada tour beginning with a performance at the Punk Rock Bowling Festival in Las Vegas May 28. Next up is Canada with stops including Winnipeg at the Burton Cummings June 19; Saskatoon at the Odeon Events Centre June 21; Edmonton at the Event Centre June 22; Calgary at MacEwan Hall June 23 and two nights at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom June 25-26.
Other towns on the schedule include Seattle (June 27); Portland (June 28); San Francisco (June 29); Tempe, Ariz. (July 3); San Antonio (July 5) and Oklahoma City (June 6). The band is also headlining Southern California’s annual Hootenanny festival, July 2 in Irvine at the Oak Canyon Ranch.
The band returns to Europe following the North America run, playing a series of August shows in Germany and stopping at the Frequency Festival in Austria.
Onsales for the North American dates vary by market with some going up this weekend. Drop by DropkickMurphys.com for more information.
