Amos will be touring in support of her upcoming album Night Of Hunters scheduled for a September release on classical label Deutsche Grammophon.

Yep, that’s right. Classical as the lady who once asked the musical question with the band name “Y Kant Tori Read” gets into some highbrow stuff, describing the disc as “A 21st century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years.”

But wait. The artist has more to say.

“I have used the structure of a song cycle to tell an ongoing modern story  The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”

Amos takes Night Of Hunters on the road beginning in Finland with a gig at Helsinki’s Ice Hall Sept. 28 then travels to Russia to play St. Petersburg’s Oktyabrsky Concert Hall Sept. 30 and Moscow’s Crocus City Oct. 2. Other stops include Luxembourg (Oct. 4); Paris (Oct. 5); Rome (Oct. 8); Amsterdam (Oct. 17); Vienna (Oct. 25); Brussels (Oct. 29); London (Nov. 2); Glasgow (Nov. 6) and Dublin (Nov. 9).
