BEP Guitarist Sues Business Manager
Sean Larkin was accused in 2009 by entertainment lawyer Helen Yu that Larkin Business Management mishandled the affairs of a “world famous music group.”
Yu, who represented “some of the performers in the group,” claimed Larkin failed to file state and federal tax returns for the band members or their corporations going back at least eight years and failed to keep accurate financial records for the band. As a result, “corporate entities owned by the music group and its members have been ‘suspended’ by the Franchise Tax Board for nonpayment of taxes,” court papers said.
It wasn’t long before that “famous music group” was known to be BEP.
Pajon, in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court May 10, claims Larkin failed to file taxes for Pajon for six years, 2004 to 2009, resulting in more than $1 million in back taxes and associated costs. The expenses are “rising daily due to accruing interest and penalties,” according to the lawsuit, obtained by The Wrap.
Pajon claims that he learned of the problem in 2009, and that Larkin acknowledged the issue but still failed to file the returns.
Also, Larkin “mismanaged merchant account and other financial relationships utilized to pay for Pajon’s wedding” that resulted in excess of $20,000 in losses.
Pajon is seeking the more than $1 million he claims he has lost from the alleged mismanagement.
Larkin had not responded to the allegations at press time.
