Linkin Park Goes To Russia

Linkin Park will perform a special concert in Red Square as part of the opening night festivities for the Moscow International Film Festival.

There is a Hollywood angle that ties this together. Linkin Park’s “Iridescent” is the end title song in “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon,” the latest flick in the ongoing movie series starring those lovable toys that first sprang into action in the 1980s.

The concert will take place at Vasilyevsky Spusk of Red Square June 23, the same night the Michael Bay-directed movie opens the festival.

Although the show is free, you still need tickets for admittance and those will be made available beginning June 1. For more information, visit Energyfm.ru or Linkin Park’s website.

Russia isn’t Linkin Park’s only stop on the continent. The band has several gigs planned for Europe and the U.K., beginning June 11 at Austria’s Nova Rock Festival. Other shows include the United Kingdom’s Download Festival in Derby, England, June 12; Germany’s Festweise in Leipzig June 18 and Italy’s Sonisphere Festival June 26.
