If you can judge an artist by her fans, Holland has already captured that rare essence that makes one unique. With such notables as Tom Waits and Sage Francis in her corner, the co-founding member of The Be Good Tanyas is hardly a flavor of the month. She’s built her still-blossoming career on that ol’ music biz tradition of hard work, recording and touring, going the organic route instead of immersing herself in the recording industry machine.

Holland’s upcoming album, Pint Of Blood, drops June 28, the same day her headlining tour launches at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. Other shows include Northampton, Mass., at the Iron Horse July 6; Montreal’s Cabaret July 8; Ann Arbor, Mich., at The Ark July 11; Chicago’s Lincoln Hall July 12; Dallas at Kessler Theater July 20; Houston at Fitzgerald’s July 22; Orlando’s Social July 26 and Philadelphia at World Café Life Aug. 3.
