Reuters Gets The Wrap

Reuters news service has ended a longtime partnership with entertainment trades The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard and announced it will distribute information from The Wrap instead.

The Wrap is less than three years old but, under the stewardship of former Reuters correspondent Sharon Waxman, has created enough presence in Hollywood to be under the watchful eye of Deadline Hollywood’s Nikki Finke.

Because of the new relationship, The Wrap has formed a Review section, bringing on board Alonso Duralde, formerly of Salon, MSN and Movieline, and Chris Willman, a veteran music critic at Entertainment Weekly.

“We are incredibly excited to extend The Wrap’s growing brand through a prestigious, global news partner like Reuters,” Waxman said in a statement. “We feel strongly that our expertise within the entertainment industry, our ability to break news and transmit it immediately through the news service, offers a huge benefit to Reuters customers as well as an important benefit to the industry we cover.”
