The Wide World Of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion

The punk-blues pioneers’ upcoming tour will cover four continents in three weeks.

With JSBX recently adding a few U.S. dates, it would be easier to mention the continents the band isn’t playing – Australia, Africa and Antarctica. On the other hand, the group did play Australia in January, narrowing the number of still-to-play continents to two.

South America is up first with the band playing Buenos Aires, Argentina, at Niceto Club July 27; Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the Bourbon Street Music Club July 28; and Brasilia, Brazil, at July 30.

Europe is next with the band playing Cologne, Germany, at Gebaude 9 Aug. 2; Munich’s Ampere Aug. 3; Prague, Czech Republic, at Palac Akroplis Aug. 4; Katiwice, Poland, at Aug. 5; Aulnoye-Aymeries, France, at Aug. 6; and Lecce, Italy, at Arabian Garden Aug. 7.

The band’s previously announced stops at Japan’s count for Asia, with JSBX appearing at the festival’s Osaka venue Aug. 13 and in Tokyo Aug. 14.

Finally, there are three North American dates – Vancouver, British Columbia, at The Venue Aug. 16; Seattle’s Neumos Aug. 17; and Portland, Ore., at the Wonder Ballroom Aug. 18.
