APA’s Berkowitz Upped To Partner

Mike Berkowitz, who reopened APA’s New York office when he joined the agency in 2006, has been made a partner. He currently serves as the head of the office’s Comedy department.

Berkowitz has put together major tours for comedians including Aziz Ansari, Mike Birbiglia, Michael Ian Black, Bill Burr, Broken Lizard, Louis C.K., Craig Ferguson, Jeff Garlin, Kevin Hart, Stephen Lynch, Craig Robinson and Sinbad.

He currently oversees the stand-up careers of emerging comics such as Wyatt Cenac, Anthony Jeselnik, Nick Kroll, T.J. Miller, John Mulaney and Nick Thune, among others. Berkowitz also works with branded tours for Comedy Central’s official On Campus tour, FX’s “The League” and CollegeHumor Live.

In addition to booking tours for his artists, Berkowitz specializes in placing client content in various media including broadcast, home video and digital. Another project, the off-Broadway “Mike Birbiglia’s My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” will tour in 2012, and Berkowitz played a key role in organizing the upcoming theatrical release of “Laugh at My Pain,” chronicling Kevin Hart’s successful 2011 tour.
