Portugal. The Man Takes On The World
After forming in Wasilla, Alaska, in 2005 and putting out their debut full length album, Waiter: “You Vulture,” in 2006, the psychedelic rock band has released another album every year since.
In The Mountain In The Cloud was released today on Atlantic Records, marking the band’s sixth studio album.
Jason Bentley, music director and host of Los Angeles-area radio station KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” raved that the album “is an expertly crafted collection of songs that draws on the joy, sadness, and complexity of life as its creative palette to represent the spirit of our time. A bold task to take on the vastness of human experience, but this record has a switched-on consciousness that makes it a rare find. As a singular achievement, In The Mountain In The Cloud is simply one of the best records of the year.”
