Accompanied by an orchestra, the two-time Grammy/four-time Tony winner begins and ends her trek in Pennsylvania, launching her tour at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center Oct. 1 and wrapping up the adventure in University Park at Penn State University’s Eisenhower Auditorium Nov. 29. Stops in between include Boston’s Symphony Hall Oct. 2; Washington, D.C., at the Kennedy Center Oct. 4; Costa Mesa, Calif., at the Segerstrom Concert Hall Oct. 15; New York City’s Carnegie Hall Oct. 22; and Birmingham, Ala., at the Alys Stephens Center Nov. 13.

McDonald returns to Broadway following the tour, appearing in a new production of “Porgy and Bess.”

In case you’re wondering, McDonald is continuing her roll as Naomi Bennett on the ABC TV show “Private Practice.”
