Disturbed Preparing For Hiatus

The remaining dates on Disturbed’s summer tour might be the last chance fans will have to see the heavy metal band for quite some time.

According to several media reports, frontman David Draiman recently told Boise, Idaho, radio station KQXR-FM the band has “some things going on internally … some personal things going on.” The singer noted that the current tour was the last time U.S. fans would get to see the band on the road “for a while, if not indefinitely.”

Draiman has been spending a good amount of time on his Twitter account taking questions from fans. On Monday he addressed several questions about Disturbed’s hiatus.
After @LionEm asked if Disturbed was going to break up, the singer wrote, “We don’t know. All I can say is you won’t see us for quite a while.”

Another fan, known as @RStokes444, asked if the band members were parting ways after .

Draiman wrote back saying, “We’re not sure. We have the South American run, and then we don’t know what we’re doing. We’re definitely going away for a while.”

Tonight Disturbed performs in Darien Center, N.Y., at the On Wednesday the band takes the stage at Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival in Holmdel, N.J., at the PNC Bank Arts Center.

Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival dates are booked through an Aug. 14 gig in West Palm Beach, Fla., at Cruzan Amphitheatre.

Disturbed wraps up August with a round of South American dates scheduled Aug. 21-27 with shows in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

The band, which was founded in 1995, has put out five studio albums including 2010’s Asylum.
