Reworking ‘The Throne’

Changes in the “Watch The Throne’ tour featuring Kanye West and Jay-Z have resulted in a revised schedule to be released later today.

Presales were to begin today, but Live Nation sez dates added to the routing have resulted in changes to the schedule. Expect a revised itinerary by the end of the day and presales firing up tomorrow.

The Kanye West / Jay-Z collaboration, Watch The Throne, will be released exclusively on iTunes Aug. 8. Other online music stores as well as brick-and-mortar establishments will begin selling it Aug. 12. Best Buy snagged an exclusive giving the electronics chain rights to sell a deluxe version until Aug. 23 when other retailers will begin hawking the album.

Many independent record store retailers have voiced their displeasure about exclusive deals for selling Watch The Throne. A letter signed by many indie sellers asked the artists to reconsider the album’s marketing plans.
