Before the Grade I-listed building in Kensington, central London, was opened in 1871, 1,300 privately owned seats were put up for sale on a 999-year lease.
Queen Victoria bought 10 for £100 each and the box for sale on the venue’s Grand Tier is still owned by the monarchy. It still has 865 years remaining on the lease.
“The boxes at the Royal Albert Hall are extremely rare and those with original features are even rarer so we anticipate a high level of interest,” Harrods Estates sales and marketing director Shirley Humphrey told BBC News.
