Ginthör Gets GAS

Edgar Berger’s promotion to chairman and chief exec of Sony Music International means Philip Ginthör will replace him as chief exec of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the so-called GAS territories.

Ginthör, who was previously general manager of Sony Music Austria, a post he has held since 2009, takes up his new role immediately.

“I am very much looking forward to my new, broadened assignment and the challenges it will bring,” Ginthör said. “I am sure that Sony Music in Germany, Switzerland and Austria with its great local and international artists and its teams is well placed to generate a steady stream of talent and actively expand and refine our business model.”
