Taking place at the Roanoke Civic Center Sept. 30, all proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen For The Cure. The concert takes place on the evening before Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins Oct. 1.

Susan Goodman Komen was diagnosed with breast cancer during the late 1970s and passed away from the disease in 1980. Believing her older sister might have lived if she knew more about the disease, Nancy Goodman Brinker launched the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982. The organization changed its name to Susan G. Komen For The Cure in 2007.

“Breast cancer is something that’s affected me, my family and just about everyone I know,” Jason Aldean said in a statement announcing this year’s fundraiser. “Last year, we took the benefit on the road and raised a lot of money in Evansville, Ind. It was such an incredible night! I love looking out and seeing all the pink T-shirts in the crowd … it’s amazing what we can do and how much money we can raise when we all come together for this cause.”

The “Concert For A Cure” is part of Aldean’s My Kinda Party Tour and includes performances by Chris Young and current Pollstar HotStar group Thompson Square. Tickets go on sale Aug. 26. Visit JasonAldean.com for more information.
