Pitbull Aussie Lawsuit Hits Court

The first salvo in a lawsuit brought against Pitbull by two Australian DJs/promoters was fired in the NSW Supreme Court.

Jaime Fernandez, aka DJ Suave from Suave Productions, and DJ Don Juan, aka Juan David Uribe of Don Juan Entertainment, originally filed suit in 2009 demanding $100,000 after Pitbull failed to turn up to play three shows in December 2008.

He was to play in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

According to claims, both promoters had problems with financing a week before the tour, and arranged with Pitbull’s U.S. agent to pay a deposit of US$18,753 and pay the rest later.

Pitbull and his manager Barry London saw this as a breach of contract.

The promoters claim Pitbull did not tell them he was not coming.

Sydney barrister David Studdy, SC, for Pitbull, asked the court to drop Uribe as a claimant.
