Iggy Too Injured To Rock
An announcement on the band’s website explains that the injury occurred during the group’s Aug. 27 headline appearance in Romania. According to AEG Live, Iggy tripped over a microphone stand during a performance of “Search and Destroy.”
The singer rested at home for several days before seeking medical attention. Dr. Frank Smith of the Cayman Orthopedic Group says Iggy has a pair of fractures in his left foot and must “cool it” for the next six to eight weeks.
The U.S. shows were scheduled between Sept. 7-13 with gigs at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, Calif.; The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel / Casino in Las Vegas; and Warfield Theatre in San Francisco.
The Stooges’ website promises that rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as possible. Announcements on the venues’ websites say that ticket holders should hold onto their tickets, which will be valid for the rescheduled shows. Refunds will also be available at point of purchase.
“I hate this,” Iggy said in a statement. “I hate like hell to cancel or postpone anything. I only saw the doctor because it hurt so f***ing much and I couldn’t fix it myself. Please be patient, I am so excited about these dates on the left coast.”
