Gaga will perform in front of a crowd expected to number one million in New York City’s Times Square during the final minutes of 2011, right before the famed ball drops signifying the beginning of 2012.

Marking four decades of ringing in new years, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” will feature live music from both coasts with The Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie hosting the show in Los Angeles while Seacrest emcees the New York shindig.

The festivities kick off Dec. 31 with “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve: the 40th Anniversary Party” airing on ABC beginning at 8 p.m. EST. “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” follows at 10 p.m. Of course, for all matters involving Dick Clark, check out the perennial teenager’s website.
