Third Time’s The Charm For McCartney?

The 69-year-old music legend apparently posted wedding banns this week in Central London at the same place he married his first wife Linda in 1969, according to Reuters.

Macca has been keeping company with New York heiress Nancy Shevell, who is 18 years younger than the former Beatle. By posting the banns, McCartney and Shevell have 16 days to marry at the Register office.

McCartney’s first marriage, to photographer Linda Eastman, became one of the truly great love stories in music and lasted until she passed away from breast cancer in 1998. After her death McCartney noted that they spent only 11 days apart from each other during the 29-year marriage.

But longevity wasn’t a factor in McCartney’s second marriage. He married model Heather Mills in 2002 in a wedding estimated to have cost more than $3 million dollars, only to separate in 2004 followed by high-profile divorce proceedings in 2008.
