Postponements: 3 Guitar Heroes, Mogwai

You can scratch the 3 Guitar Heroes tour off of your fall calendar. Ditto for Mogwai’s U.S. dates.

The 3 Guitar Heroes tour featuring Michael Schenker, Leslie West and Uli Jon Roth has been postponed until 2012. An announcement from Schenker’s camp attributes the change in plans to West’s recent leg amputation. West, a diabetic, experienced extreme swelling in his leg in June, resulting in surgeons amputating the limb up to the knee.

Evidently organizers thought West would be ready when the tour launched in Norfolk, Conn., Oct. 6. With dates originally slotted through mid-November, the tour is expected to be rescheduled for early 2012.

Seems Scottish band Mogwai is having a streak of bad luck when it comes to playing in the U.S. Earlier this year the band was forced to postpone April shows scheduled for New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., because of an “unforeseen delay” in processing band members’ visas. The April gigs were rescheduled for this week.

Well, guess what? Citing medical reasons, the band has postponed the U.S. dates once again, and has canceled its appearance at the All Tomorrow’s Parties’ festival taking place at various venues in Asbury Park, N.J., this weekend.
