Radiohead On Wall Street?

There are rumors that Radiohead will perform an impromptu acoustic set for protestors camped out on Wall Street even though the band’s press rep firmly denies it.

Evidently a person associated with “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrators sent a tweet claiming Radiohead would perform for the protestors at 4 p.m. Eastern time today.

However, the band’s press agent said via email that it’s not happening, and typed “NOT” in big capital letters to get the point across, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But not everyone is taking the official denial at face value. Gawker.com reports that an Occupy Wall Street spokesman told the news aggregator that protest organizers had emails from individual Radiohead members confirming a surprise gig at Zuccotti Park. Adding more fuel to the rumor is Gawker’s citing of CNN as another media outlet saying the concert is a go.

Radiohead has spent the last several days in New York, appearing on “Saturday Night Live” last weekend and The Colbert Report” Monday night before performing two nights at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom Sept. 28 & 29.
