George Jones’ 2012 Plans

The country legend reveals his tour plans for next year, slotting 26 shows from February through November.

Having just turned 80 you’d think George Jones might be inclined to take it easy in his golden years. However, the man whose hits include country classics such as “White Lighting,” “Still Doin’ Time” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today” keeps on truckin’ in 2012, beginning with a show in Huntington, W.Va., at Big Sandy Superstore Arena Feb. 3. Other stops include the Peoria Civic Center in Illinois March 24; Lancaster, Pa., at the American Music Theater June 3; Savannah, Ga., at Johnny Mercer Theatre Aug. 17 and Bossier City, La., at the Horeshoe Casino & Hotel / Riverdome.

Jones’ 2012 routing also lists a few cities with no venue information, such as Columbus, Ohio (Feb. 18); Reno, Nev. (Feb. 24); Lincoln City, Ore. (March 3-4) and Metropolis, Ill. (March 23).

“I’m always excited to get back out on the road and we’re working up new shows and new songs,” Jones said in a statement. “I’m feelin’ great and givin’ the road hell!”
