Rihanna On Top Of Globe

Rihanna’s case of flu appears to have been the 24-hour variety and unlikely to cost more than one date of her current European tour.

The Barbadian R&B star missed her show in Malmo, Sweden, Oct. 31 amid reports that she’d been “hospitalized” and “not in condition to conduct the concert” but Live Nation’s Nordic chief Thomas Johansson was hopeful she’d recover in time to make the following day’s gig at Stockholm Globe.

“I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo. I was so excited to perform for you all. It would have been a great time…so much better than being sick with the flu, ugh!” Rihanna said in a statement to her disappointed fans.

Missing Malmo spoiled what would have been a sold-out run for Rihanna in Scandinavia.

She’d already sold 15,000 tickets in Herning, Denmark, and 9,000 in Oslo, Norway. Two shows at the 13,250-capacity Stockholm Globe Nov. 1-2 were sold out in advance.

She hopes to reschedule the Malmo show before the end of the European leg of Rihanna’s Loud Tour, which wraps in London Dec. 20.
