Guns N’Roses Time
The Tribune Chronicle reported Dec. 5 the Live Nation-promoted show would start later than usual, with the doors not even opening until at 8 p.m. Area concertgoers who are used to getting out of a weeknight concert about 11 p.m. were duly warned.
Guns N’Roses, known to have a penchant for late starts, took the stage about 11 p.m. after Black Label Society and proceeded to play for more than two hours, the paper said.
The Times Chronicle’s reviewer said Guns N’ Roses’ jam-packed set was great overall, but there was one main criticism.
“On a weeknight when many folks have to get up for work the next day, starting a concert – one that runs close to three hours – that late really is a disservice to the audience,” the reviewer said. “I confess I bailed at 1:15 a.m., just as the encore was starting. And considering how many empty parking spots I saw, many didn’t last that long.”
