Foos Film Auckland Video

The Foo Fighters filmed their official video for “These Days” live before 50,000 fans at their Auckland, New Zealand, show at Western Springs Stadium, Dec. 13.

The set ran for three hours, after which the crowd chanted “one more song!”

Dave Grohl told them their last NZ show at the Auckland Town Hall in March 2011, where they raised more than NZ$350,000 for the Christchurch earthquake relief fund, was one of the best he’d ever played.

“We’ll come back and play at Town Hall and you know what? We’ll play for four fucking hours!” he said.

The Western Springs show literally shook the ground. According to NZ’s GeoNet blog, two seismic stations outside the venue – 1.5 and 2 kilometers away, respectively – detected a strong low frequency of tremors during the show.

The first was midway through Tenacious D’s opening set, with the bigger shake starting when the Foos hit the stage.
“With a peak osculation of 3Hz, i.e. the ground was shaking 3 times per second,” the blog said.
