Keller Out Over ‘Conceptual Differences’

Mike Keller is no longer managing director of the O2 World in Berlin, according to a press release from venue operator AEG.

The news came Dec. 23, just as the European music business stopped for the Christmas holiday, and was said to be “effective immediately.”

The press statement said Keller and AEG have “mutually agreed” to go “separate ways,” and claimed the split was due to “conceptual differences with regards to the venue’s business operation.”

In October ultimate responsibility for the venue passed to Hamburg O2 World managing director Uwe Frommhold, when he was promoted to the new position of vice president AEG Facilities Germany.

Keller has been GM of the O2 World ever since its opening in 2008 and became the managing director at the beginning of this year.
