Known for both his traditionalist country albums as well as his speed metal recordings, the grandson of Hank Williams has his feet planted firmly in both worlds. It’s almost as if one side of his brain gives him the ability to sound as authentic as his famous grandfather while the other side makes him want to shred like there’s no tomorrow. And Hank3’s fans like that just fine.

Born Shelton Hank Williams, Hank3 likes to play the music game on his terms. In September 2011 he released four albums on the same day on his own label. Packaging two as a double record set, Ghost To A Ghost/Guttertown featured the country side of Hank3 as well as plenty of Cajun influences and included guest appearances by Tom Waits, Hellstomper’s Alan King, Les Claypool, Dave Sherman, Troy Medlin and Trooper (Hank3’s dog).

The other two releases – Attention Deficit Domination and 3 Bar Ranch Cattle Callin – show off Hank3’s speed metal acumen.

Hitting the road in support of his albums, Hank3 begins his journey during the final weeks of winter, playing Chattanooga, Tenn., at Rhythm & Brews March 2; Montgomery, Ala., at Rock Bottom March 3; and Mobile, Ala., at Soul Kitchen March 4.

But not all stops are in the great Southeast. Look for Hank3 in some northern towns, such as Philadelphia when he plays The Trocadero March 16 and Indianapolis at the Vogue March 20. So far, the last stop on Hank3’s routing is Sauget, Ill., at Pop’s March 21.
