Bruce Springsteen Week On ‘Jimmy Fallon’
The weeklong musical tribute will run Feb. 27 through March 2, celebrating the release of Springsteen’s 17th studio album. Wrecking Ball is due out March 6 on Columbia Records.
Springsteen first appeared on the talk show in November 2010 when he and Fallon-as-Neil Young donned wigs and beards to cover Willow Smith’s single “Whip My Hair.”
The New Jersey rocker and his band will start off next week with two performances Feb. 27, followed by Friday’s appearance. On March 2 Springsteen and the band will be Fallon’s only guest. After an interview segment with Fallon, Springsteen will perform multiple times with his band.
Tuesday’s musical guest is Kenny Chesney, who will perform “I’m on Fire,” from Springsteen’s 1984 album, Born In The U.S.A. Chesney previously released the tune as one of the bonus tracks on his 2004 album, When The Sun Goes Down.
Elvis Costello will perform “Brilliant Disguise” Wednesday with help from Fallon’s house band The Roots. The song hails from Springsteen’s 1987 album, Tunnel of Love.
Wednesday’s guest hasn’t been announced yet.
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s 2012 world tour begins March 9 at New York City’s Apollo Theater. U.S. dates are booked through a May 2 gig in Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center, followed by a European tour scheduled May 13 through July 31.
