Global Spectrum Lands Salina Center
City officials chose to go with private management after the city-operated venue had consistently run a deficit, according to the Salina Journal.
Under the deal, the city will pay Global Spectrum $604,167 in 2012, $550,000 in 2013 and $450,000 in 2014 to run and maintain the facility. Incentives include a $120,000 operational fee and another $120,000 depending on the company’s performance. Current employees will remain on staff, the paper said.
