AEG And Kilimanjaro Restructure Deal

AEG has restructured its deal with UK promoter Kilimanjaro Live, one of the companies behind Europe’s Sonisphere festivals.

Neither side is giving the exact details of how the deal’s been re-done, but both are making it clear that they’ll continue working together.

Kilimanjaro is now wholly owned by Stuart Galbraith, who founded the company with AEG at the beginning of 2008.

It’s not clear if the restructuring means AEG will no longer fund Kilimanjaro beyond sharing the risk on future joint ventures.

The new deal is believed to have been struck in the days leading up to ILMC.

“I’m flattered that people have the time to talk about me, but we’ll just carry on minding our own business,” Galbraith told Pollstar in response to pre-ILMC rumours that the deal had been severed.

Apart from a handful of Sonispheres in the UK and around Europe, the partnership also has 2012 shows with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli.
