More Mulling At Roberts Stadium

Roberts Stadium has been closed for more than six months, and an Evansville, Ind., task force is close to bringing proposals for the building’s future use to the city’s mayor.

More than 600 ideas were offered by the public to the mayor-appointed task force, which settled on six scenarios, including turning Roberts into a multisports complex with a fitness center, playground and pool.

Other ideas including turning the 56-year-old venue into a park or exposition center. Roberts Stadium was shut down in September soon after the opening of the $127 million Ford Center arena.
