Ex-Manager Sues LMFAO

LMFAO‘s former management company has filed a $7 million suit claiming the duo threw it “under the tour bus” as soon as their career began to take off.

The suit, filed in Santa Monica Superior Court, alleges LMFAO inked a two-year contract with RPMGRP’s Rene McLean in 2008, according to Courthouse News. The deal reportedly stipulated LMFAO would continue to pay commission that would be phased out over five years.

But instead, LMFAO induced two employees to leave RPMGRP to manage the duo’s career, the suit says.

“LMFAO has thanked the managers who took them from ‘0 to 60’ by throwing them under the tour bus (i.e. firing them). Instead of hiring new managers, LMFAO then poached two employees of the original managers, hiring them on a salary instead of paying a commission to the original managers.”

RMPGRP’s suit has brought forth charges of breach of contract, tortious interference and accounting. In addition to the $7 million, the company is seeking punitive damages, CN reported.
