During McCartney’s recent appearance on BBC News, interviewer Ian Youngs asked the son of Sir Paul about forming “The Beatles – The Next Generation” with Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey.

To which McCartney replied:

“I don’t think it’s something that Zak wants to do. Maybe Jason [Starkey] would want to do it. I’d be up to it. Sean seemed to be into it. Dhani seemed to be into it. I’d be happy to do it.”

However, when asked if it could happen, McCartney’s answer seemed to indicate that a next-gen Beatles group was probably nothing more than idle talk.

“Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don’t know, you’d have to wait and see. The will of God, nature’s support, I guess. So yeah, maybe.”

But what do you think? Would you welcome a band comprised of the sons of John, Paul, George and Ringo? Or would you see it as yet another attempt to capitalize on the fame and glory achieved by four young mop tops more than four decades ago?
