Jimmy Little Memorial

New South Wales will hold a state memorial for veteran singer Jimmy Little, 75, who died April 2 after a long illness.

The event will be at the Sydney Opera House May 3 “for thousands of fans to celebrate his life and honour his legacy,” said Premier Barry O’Farrell.

Little’s manager Buzz Bidstrup, who is finalizing the bill, said it will be followed by a concert with “some of the biggest names in music history.”

The honey-toned, soft spoken Little’s Top 10 success in the ’60s made him an admired figure.
