One Direction, Ed Sheeran Sell Out

In the wake of One Direction’s three-city sellout visit in April, Australian promoter Nine Live reported that 18 shows sold out for the British act’s September 2013 return through Australia and New Zealand.

The tour begins with a two-night run at Brisbane’s 13,500-capacity Entertainment Centre Sept. 11 and winds up with two shows at Auckland’s 12,000-capacity Vector Arena Oct. 13.

The band’s tour souvenir edition of its Up All Night album went double platinum in both countries, and topped the Australian charts for four weeks.

Ed Sheeran’s first Australian and New Zealand headline dates sold out in minutes, Frontier Touring reported.

Sheeran, whose debut album on Warner went platinum in both countries, plays six theatres July 29 to Aug. 6.

In other dates, this year’s Rap City tour will feature Ghostface Killah, DOOM, and Chino XL taking in five clubs June 1-9.

Hanson’s September visit through San Dimas Social Club added three more dates, bringing the total of shows to nine.

U.S.-base Thick As Blood and Australia’s Taken By Force team up for 12 shows June 13-24 through Fetch Agency.

Cannibal Corpse returns after three years for five theatre dates Oct. 4-9.

Due to visa delays, Barry Adamson’s “I Will Set You Free” three-city theatre tour finally lands in Australia Sept. 11-15.
